One of the New Yorkiest things New Yorkers like to do is compare the cost of an item—be it rent, cigarettes, beer or pizza—in New York to anywhere else in the country. Weed is apparently no exception.
PriceOfWeed.com will let Gotham’s toking denizens tell the world how much they pay for an eighth of the sticky.
The website crowd sources the street value of weed throughout the country and Canada. The customer can anonymously share how much they paid for an ounce of high, medium or low quality. An ounce of good California weed is on the cheap side at $354.55. In most of the northeast, that same amount costs more than $400.
If you’re smoking anything better than a bag of stems and seeds peddled in Washington Square Park, the site is taking submissions from New York.
